| 28.06.1948 | The Britisch Armed Forces start their Airlift as “Operation Plainfair”. The American Airlift is defined as “Operation Vittles”. |
| 19.07.1948 | The Royal Air Force deploys all DC-3 (Skytrain) from Wunstorf to Fassberg. |

Three C-54 (Skymaster) squadrons are deployed to Fassberg for the transportation of coal. |
| 20.10.1948 | The Joint Airlift Command of American and British Forces “Combined Airlift Task Force” is inaugurated, with its headquarters located in Wiesbaden. |

Fassberg´s operation “Santa Claus” provides gifts for approximately 10 000 children in Berlin. |

In a four-power communiqué the Allied Forces come to an agreement concerning the ending of both blockade and counter blockade as of May 12 th 1949. |

| 30.09.1949 | Ending of the Airlift. The last plane arrives Berlin-Tempelhof. |
